Primary Potpourri - "Here are some ideas we use in our monthly Primary newsletter:

We make sure to always have the year's theme at the top of the newsletter and to introduce it in the January edition (Some Exciting "New"s!). Since we have a lot of inactive Primary members, we try to focus on keeping the newsletter very positive, basic, and fun. Often times we have included a matching scripture and simple picture for the children to color. The newsletter emphasizes invitations to "come on out!" or "join us!" for every activity occurring (the focus-on-YOU-not-us factor). Occasional reminders to make submissions, study scriptures, etc. are included too. Timeliness is VERY important--nobody wants to read about what happened two weeks ago. It takes effort and organization, but getting everything gathered by the end of the month becomes easier with weekly reminders-- not only in Primary but in the ward bulletin as well."
