UNABLE TO SIT STILL - Having a young ADHD child, who is not on medication, we have found he does much better if don't try to make him conform and sit still the whole time. We sit him on an end where he can slip out for a second if he needs to (with a teacher of course). Also during music and sharing time trying to use his name and involve him as much as possible helps keep his interest and attention high. One of the best tricks we've found is giving him something to do with his hands. For example a koosh ball, balloon filled with sand, piece of string. This gives his little body something to do besides get up and down, make noise and distract the other children. You may have to explain to other children the reason so they don't become jealous.
