GREETING EVERY CHILD WITH A HANDSHAKE -  JULIE, QUEBEC, CANADA - "I arrive quickly to primary before each sharing time to greet each and every one of my little friends with a handshake, calling them by their name and asking how they are doing. I usually start by shaking hands with those who are already seated, so they take a seat much faster to have time to talk to me too! The children love to feel that their presence in your class is valuable and that you care. They get the attention they need right at the beginning, so now YOU can get their attention. It is also helpful for you because they get to say what bothers them or whatever they want to say to you, instead of the kid next to him or her during your lesson. The children and I gradually made it a habit and we get to know and love each other more every Sunday!"
